Winning in back-to-back weeks for the first time in their partnership was a cause for celebration but YONEX Canada Open 2023 champions Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen were also eager to rejoice at the bigger picture.
Astrup/Rasmussen, European Games gold medallists in Poland just a week ago, overcame compatriots Rasmus Kjaer/Frederik Sogaard in three games – 23-25 21-16 21-12 – at the Markin MacPhail Centre for their maiden triumph on Canadian soil.
“This feels amazing but a big shoutout to our compatriots. It's been a good week for Danish men's doubles,” said Rasmussen.
