The French duo had won their opening encounter at the Indonesia Masters 2024 in January, and with the throaty crowd yelling its support, found the right game to unsettle the Chinese, 21-19 21-18.
“We’d won a round here in January. We have some good feelings from the Indonesia Masters,” said Tran. “It’s incredible in there. When we stepped on court there was an Indonesian match next to us and the crowd was amazing.
“It’s a good win, we played well, we managed the conditions. Always a great feeling to win in Istora.”
