Indonesia Masters: Sung Soars
Chinese Taipei fans could be forgiven for thinking they would have to wait a while to see a women's singles semifinalist on the HSBC BWF World Tour with Tai Tzu Ying no longer in the mix.

Instead, Sung Shuo Yun has stepped forward, qualifying for her second Super 500 semifinal by beating Thuy Linh Nguyen 21-16 22-20 at DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2025.
In doing so, she becomes the first Chinese Taipei shuttler since Tai in 2018 to make the last four at the tournament. Remarkably, Sung also played a first round women's doubles match with Yu Chien Hui, losing to Malaysians Go Pei Kee/Teoh Mei Xing.
“I see Tai as a role model, not just for me but all of us in the team. She’s always generous with advice but I like to focus on developing my own style,” said Sung.
