This marks the 21-year-old’s maiden appearance at a home HSBC BWF World Tour event. Hoh has played five World Tour events this season and had a run to the quarterfinals two weeks ago at the Taipei Open, where he surprised defending champion Lin Chun-Yi in the second round.

Fans will also eagerly welcome Ng Tze Yong after he was forced to skip the Malaysia Open in January due to a back injury.

The movements in the men's singles were prompted by the withdrawal of Thailand Open runner-up Anders Antonsen. Li Shi Feng is now the highest seeded player while Chou Tien Chen takes Antonsen's position in the top half.
