When the draw was released, Popov's immediate reaction was “again”. It's their third meeting this year.
“I thought, ‘Fine, no problem. I will go for it’. I had the home crowd. It wasn’t an easy draw but I had nothing to lose so I just had to enjoy it.’”
The Frenchman arrived in Paris extra motivated after an underwhelming performance at last week's Denmark Open.
